Quad City Regional Analysis

May 4, 2009

MCFA has been selected by the Bi-State Regional Commission, a local, voluntary organization of five counties and 43 municipalities in Illinois and Iowa, and the Quad City Development Group (QCDG) to perform an anlysis of the Finance and Information Technology (IT) sectors in the Quad City region. Situated west of Chicago at the crossroads of Interstate 80 and the Mississippi River, the Quad City region is in the primary center of a 12-county commercial/industrial center. Combining the six-county Quad City Region with the contiguous counties of Knox, Warren, Whiteside in Illinois and Cedar, Jackson and Louisa counties in Iowa, the total value of industrial output is $40 billion and population is nearly 655,000 people.

The analysis will study the current-state of the sectors within the Quad City region and the impact of Base Relocation and Closure (BRAC) at Rock Island Arsenal (RIA) in in relation to the Finance and IT sectors. MCFA will recommend strategies to realign impacted employees to key sectors in the Quad City region.
